This will be a quick post, but I want to make sure it doesn’t fall to the wayside. I have another free knitting pattern which has been up on Knit Picks and Ravelry for a few weeks now. It is called Squares Aplenty Baby Blanket, and it features Knit Picks’ new baby line, Snuggle Puff. It’s a gloriously soft and light weight cotton blown into a nylon tube, much like their Wonderfluff alpaca blend yarn. Snuggle Puff is great for baby and child garments because it is machine wash and dry.
I designed this cute and simple little blanket which features alternating squares in Stockinette and Seed Stitch. It’s a great project for a beginning knitter, since there is no shaping and only simple knits and purls.
It’s just the right size for a baby and can continue as a child’s snuggle blanket. The blanket would be perfect in any of the Snuggle Puff colorways (here it is featured in Platapup, a soft lavender).
