These past few weeks have been unreasonably busy. I say unreasonably because I’m not even working at my full-time position at the moment. And yet, the to-do list keeps growing and growing, and there is a never-ending stream of tasks to fill my time, some fun, some less so. There are documents to fill out and submit, webinars to attend, giant decisions to be made, knitting to be done (yay!), designs to be drafted (also yay!), translations to be made, edits to be done, a child who needs entertaining with no camps or swim lessons or other fun activities going on. Oh, and this is the first time in, well, forever that I’ve had more than five minutes a day to devote to my vegetable garden, and I’m trying to do things “the right way” with staggered plantings and actual weeding and picking bugs off the undersides of leaves and all that. It’s paying off in a big way! just look at these lovely vegetables (and keep in mind I am a TERRIBLE gardener)!
I’ve been doing a TON of knitwear designing (and my mom has been a tremendous help as well), but unfortunately I can’t share any of it at the moment. My “mod” tee design was accepted for publication, and I’ve been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to explain a particular aspect of the pattern. I’m hoping a good tech editor can help! And I’m working steadily toward a September release of a 10-pattern collection which is SUPER exciting, I can’t wait to get it out there! I’m down to one last design, a pair of socks, which has given me no end of grief. Then it’s time to go into the editing stage and get them all perfect and ready to go. In the meantime I have some extra designs waiting in the wings as well. So this fall is going to be a BIG moment for my design business. But right now, I’m in a bit of a blogging slump as I eagerly await the moment I can divulge all the juicy information!
So, I hope you all are getting lots of projects completed and gearing up for the fall as well. While you wait, enjoy a peaceful moment of respite from our lovely local beach!
