Napatree: How To Make Gathers

June 19, 2021 / by Bridget Pupillo / Leave a Comment

Hello again! As promised, I'm back with a little tutorial on what might be the trickiest element of the Napatree Tee design: the gathers at the shoulder. Once you have the hang of it, this technique is quite simple, actually. It is somewhere between a basic cable and three needle bind-off …

Hello everyone! I am looking for 3-5 test knitter Hello everyone!

I am looking for 3-5 test knitters for each size of my new Garvamore Fingerless Mitts design! #Garvamore mitts come in two lengths: wristwarmer (short) and gauntlet (long).

I am running the test in my Ravelry group (click on the link in my bio, and it's the very first link in my linktree). However, I understand if you are not able to join us there, and we can stay in touch through Insta or email if you prefer.

If you are interested in testing and meet all of the requirements, please leave a message for me below!

Test Knitter Qualifications:

1. You are an advanced beginner/intermediate knitter who has experience knitting cables and knitting in the round.

2. You have 100-150 yds (91-134m) worsted weight (#4 medium) yarn available OR can purchase it for the project.

3. You can complete the test by the deadline, which is February 28.

5. You are able to create a project page on Ravelry with photos of your project, or share photos on social media.

6. You can send regular updates on your progress and ask questions, either in my Ravelry test group (click on the link in my bio) or through Insta.

If you meet all of these requirements, please leave a message below and let me know!

I will choose 6-10 testers (3-5 for each length mitt) and I will let you know quickly if you have been selected. Keep your eyes open for a DM from me.

It's hard to believe my #CowlsMeow reversible cat It's hard to believe my #CowlsMeow reversible cat cowl is nearly 7 years old now! I am reworking the cowl in an updated colorway of @knit_picks #Chroma fingering yarn, and I love this tropical gradient, Tiki! New photos to follow once the cowl is complete, and it will be a featured pattern for Knit Picks in April 2023. In the meantime, the Cowl's Meow pattern is available for purchase from my Ravelry shop and from Knit Picks. Find links to both in my Linktree!

My #BurrenSlouchHat has just been released! This f My #BurrenSlouchHat has just been released! This fun hat is such a stashbuster: other than the main color, only small amounts of the contrast colors are used, so you can dig out those partial skeins from the bottom of the bin! I designed this hat with 4 colors of @knit_picks #snugglepuff and a simple slip stitch technique that only requires one color per round. I made the ribbing extra deep so the hat would stay in place, even though it's oversized and slouchy. It's a fun and colorful knit, great for beginners who want to try slip stitch technique! Find the pattern on the Knit Picks website, in their new Scrappy Knits collection, or look for it on my Ravelry site in my Linktree!

I'm super excited to share a new and updated look I'm super excited to share a new and updated look for my #Eldfell design! I've worked with Knit Picks to create more inclusive sizing (33-63" chest size) and they've chosen a beautiful new palette as well. Such a cozy showstopper in their #wonderfluff yarn. Go take a look at the @knit_picks website for Eldfell and other releases, part of their 20th anniversary collection!

Lindisfarne is one of the most complex cable patte Lindisfarne is one of the most complex cable patterns I have designed. I wanted the intricately entwined motif to evoke the amazing illuminated patterns in the Lindisfarne Gospels. My mantle has been a popular design as part of the @knit_picks collection #entwined and now I am selling it as an individual pattern on my @hi.ravelry page and through Knit Picks. The design really stands out in a natural Aran weight wool. Find the pattern by clicking on the links on my Linktree.

It's a particularly good year for the lilacs in so It's a particularly good year for the lilacs in southeastern Connecticut, and all the beautiful blooms have me thinking that purple is and always has been my favorite color. It seems that people who like purple really embrace it as a part of their identity. I know that I am immediately drawn to purple yarns, and I actually have to tell myself to choose other colors! Here is my #BardseaScarf (without the optional hood) in a delicious dusky lilac wool and cotton blend. It goes so nicely with all the blossoms out there!
Find my Bardsea pattern in my @hi.ravelry store or on the @knit_picks website - see my linktree for quick links to both.
